I am not one of those people who wake up every morning starving. I am constantly hungry and need to eat a cup of coffee before I can even think about eating breakfast. Many people feel the same way that I do, but the biggest obstacle to eating a low carb breakfast is that most people don’t know the steps that need to be taken to make that happen.. Read more about keto breakfast on the go and let us know what you think.
Matt’s all-time favorite meal is breakfast sandwiches. We used to cook them every weekend when we first began dating. On Saturday mornings, we’d go grocery shopping for fresh stuff, including some freshly baked sourdough bread, and create the best breakfast sandwiches ever! For us, becoming keto hasn’t put an end to that tradition. We’ve prepared a delicious, but simple Keto Breakfast Sandwich for you to enjoy this weekend.
Keto Breakfast Sandwiches: What Are They?
Have you ever had a desire for something warm, delicious, and, of course, breakfast-worthy? This skillet bread recipe may be just what you need.
Keto-Friendly
On a keto diet, you don’t have to give up sandwiches. Unlike traditional high-carb breakfast dishes, this low-carb meal is gluten-free, keto-friendly, and prepared using coconut flour, which is often less expensive than almond flour.
Simple to Make
Don’t worry, this dish is just as tasty as the original and is very simple to prepare, taking just 12 minutes altogether. You won’t be able to justify skipping breakfast any longer! Plus, the bread may be made in the microwave. It doesn’t get much more straightforward than that.
There Are So Many Flavor Options
While we recommend certain toppings in our recipe, you may also add your own, such as sausage patties, additional egg, and, of course, cheese.

Are you looking for something sweet or something savory? It’s all up to you — for a high tea experience, why not add fruit and whipped cream?
Information on nutrition
This dish is a low carb keto favorite not just because of the taste, but also because of the incredible nutrients it provides. For a tasty gluten-free bread that’s low in carbohydrates and rich in protein, you can’t go wrong with this!
This recipe’s nutritional information is as follows:
- calorie count: 923
- Protein: 57 g
- 71 g fat
- carbs (12 g)
- Fiber (5 g)
Who’d have guessed that a bread recipe could be that low in carbs?
Making Changes to Suit Your Diet
This recipe is readily adaptable to your own tastes and needs. Fillings such as egg, sausage, and cheddar cheese may be added to boost the protein and fat content.
If the calories are too much for you, you can always have just one egg as a topping, or even just one slice instead of two without missing out on the egg sandwich experience.
Do you have a nut allergy? No worries – this recipe doesn’t call for almond flour, but due to the baking powder, they’re still light and fluffy like bread. Your slices may be more flat and thick if you don’t add baking powder.
Low-Carb Bread Alternatives
While many keto breakfast sandwich recipes (including this one) call for skillet bread, Matt prefers to start his keto breakfast sandwich with mug bread. It’s easier to clean up and less time consuming. However, making a fresh loaf of keto bread, slicing it up, and toasting some of it to get the sandwich party started is my favorite method.
If you’re like me and like doing things, here are several low-carb bread recipes to try:
- The Most Effective Keto Bread
- (Megha’s personal favorite!) Cheesy Keto Garlic Bread
- Keto Bread with Coconut Flour
The greatest thing about preparing a keto-friendly loaf of bread is that you can slice it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to a month, making keto breakfast sandwiches a daily option!
Fillings
The greatest thing about this dish is how versatile it is in terms of flavor combinations. There are a plethora of keto-friendly additives to the bread foundation, ranging from eggs to cheese, that not only taste great but also keep net carbohydrates low. You can even amp up the fire by sprinkling some spicy sauce on top!
Simple Is Best
Matt is a straightforward individual. There’s nothing wrong with it; it’s simply his personality. From his clothes to his sandwiches, he keeps things simple. If you prefer to keep things simple (or traditional) like Matt, all you need is a couple of layers of bacon, egg, and cheese to finish this wonderful keto breakfast sandwich. You can even pour some low-carb maple syrup on top for a homemade McDonald’s McGriddle that’s free of carbohydrates and processed chemicals!
Let Your Hair Down
This part is devoted to all of my “over the top” low carb keto sandwich fans, and who better than me to write it? Going basic simply doesn’t make sense to me as a fan of additional toppings and fillings.
Bacon, eggs, and cheese are already included in your Keto Breakfast Sandwich. But what if you could boost the taste, texture, and satisfaction level of this low-carb bread sandwich? No one is going to say no to anything like that.
If you want to go all out, add some sliced avocado, tomato, and onion to the mix. This is a wonderful lunch choice, particularly since it’s portable and easy to consume on the move. Personally, I like going all out, so I would spread mayo on my buttered bread and top it with a variety of cheeses (especially cheddar cheese). That is really a low-carb masterpiece.
