Double Chocolate Pudding Cookies are soft, sweet cookies with an amazing chocolate taste prepared using chocolate pudding mix. Definitely the best biscuits for chocolate lovers.
I enjoy baking pudding cookies since they’re not only quick to make, but they’re also delicious and soft! This chocolate version is really divine. Half chocolate chips, semi-sweet and half chocolate chunks are my favorite combinations (sold on the baking aisle.)
So, what exactly are pudding cookies?
Cookie recipes that use dry pudding mix as one of the components are known as pudding cookies. Even after a few days, the pudding mix gives a wonderful taste and soft, pillowy texture to cookies!
Recipe for Pudding Cookies
To create these chocolate pudding cookies, start by creaming the sugar and butter together. I like to use a stand mixer, but it isn’t necessary! Mix in the egg and milk.
Combine the soured milk and pudding mix in a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. Combine the flour, salt, and soda bicarbonate in a mixing bowl.
Mix until the dough is homogeneous in appearance. Mix in the chocolate chips until they’re completely mixed.
On a greased cookie sheet, drop by rounded tablespoonfuls. Using a cookie scoop makes this process much easier! Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 10 minutes. Place on a cooling rack and serve warm.

What is the best way to soften butter?
I prefer to use my microwave’s defrost mode to soften butter. If you need the whole 1/2 cup cube of butter, leave it in its paper wrapper; if not, put the quantity of butter you need in a glass or porcelain dish.
I use my microwave’s lowest defrost setting and just let it run for 20 seconds.
By pressing the butter with a rubber scraper, you can tell how soft it is. Allow it to reheat for another 5-10 seconds if it is still not soft to the touch, meaning it does not indent when you push into it. Keep a careful eye on it! Butter softens in a matter of seconds.

Is it possible that my cookie batter is too thick?
Your cookie batter is too thick if your first batch of cookies doesn’t spread much and instead stays in a lump. My dough’s thickness fluctuates from day to day. What is the solution? Simply add a little extra milk, beginning with 2 TBSP, and watch what happens. That’s why the recipe calls for “2-4 TBSP milk.” Sometimes 2 tablespoons is plenty, while other times 4, or even 5 tablespoons are required. Simply bake 3-4 cookies to check how they come out, then modify as needed.
