We have been seeing a lot of people making low-carb sushi rolls. We’ve seen many versions of this recipe with steak, chicken, or even bacon strips. Today we are bringing you an amazing low-carb sushi roll (or BLT) that includes avocado and bacon.
This keto BLT sushi roll is a great low-carb appetizer or snack. It has a nice flavor and a nice crunch from the bacon. When you use the right carb sources for a keto diet, you don’t have to worry too much about calorie counting, but it never hurts to be mindful. I always find that I eat more when I know I’m going to indulge a little too much and I always feel satisfied after eating a low carb appetizer.
A BLT sushi roll is an easy to make keto appetizer or snack idea. This recipe is a twist on the classic BLT sandwich and uses avocado instead of bacon (and a few other ingredients).
These bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado keto snacks are delicious!
The tastes of bacon, lettuce, and tomato appear to complement each other like peanut butter and jelly. We’ve added avocado and eliminated the bread in this wonderful sushi twist on the traditional BLT for a great keto and low-carb snack and appetizer option!
The secret to this recipe is to make your bacon in a basket-weave pattern, which provides a strong foundation for the other components. You’re on your way to BLT-A paradise! Roll it up, slice it, and you’re good to go!
Hip Tips:
- If you like your bacon to be very crispy, the roll-up may not be for you. You can’t make the bacon too crispy in this recipe or you won’t be able to wrap it up since crispy bacon will break during the rolling process. As a result, take the bacon out of the oven just before it becomes too crisp.
- Just before serving, cut the tomatoes in half. To get the perfect amount of juiciness in your tomatoes, chop them while the bacon is cooking, not too long before.
- Serving a lesser number of people? If you’re feeding a smaller party, you may reduce this dish in half since the mayonnaise and avocado make it difficult to reheat.

- Bacon (12 slices)
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- 12 romaine lettuce heads, chopped
- 1 avocado, roughly chopped
- a quarter cup of mayonnaise
1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
2
Arrange the bacon on your broiling pan in a “basket weave” pattern, as indicated. Cook for 25-30 minutes in a preheated oven.
3
Allow the bacon to cool and drain for approximately 5 minutes on the broiling pan. To remove any oil from the bacon, dab it with a paper towel.
4
Mayonnaise should be spread over the bacon foundation.
5
Add lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado to the bacon.
6
Beginning at the far end of the bacon square, wrap it up firmly to keep the contents within.
7
Cut the cylinder into six portions after it’s been wrapped up.
This recipe calls for thick-cut bacon, but thin-sliced bacon works just as well. Thinner bacon, on the other hand, may need a three to five minute reduction in cook time to avoid being overly crispy.
