- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 pound butter
- Warm Milk (30 mL)
- Flour (150 grams)
- 1 Yolk of an Egg
- Sugar, a pinch
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 chopped jalapeno
- season with salt to taste
- creme fraiche, 2 tbsp
- 1 tbsp. parsley, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tiny chopped white onion
- 1 chopped tiny bell pepper
- 200 g Beef, Ground
- 1 Egg
- Tomato Paste (1 tbsp.)
- a quarter teaspoon of chili powder
- In a mixing dish, combine the milk, sugar, and yeast.
- Make a well in the middle of the flour in a basin.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, egg yolk, and butter.
- Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
- Allow the dough to chill overnight.
- In a pan, sauté the garlic and onions.
- Combine the bell pepper and jalapenos in a mixing bowl. Cook for 1-2 minutes on high heat.
- Add the meat and cook until it is browned.
- Salt & pepper to taste.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the egg, crème fraiche, tomato paste, and parsley.
- With a pastry cutter, roll out the dough and cut into 4-6 inch circles.
- Fill the middle of your dough with the filling.
- Fold the filled dough in half and crimp or press the edges with a fork to seal.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- Place the empanadas on a baking sheet and set aside.
- Brush the egg wash on the empanadas.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 15-20 minutes.
