This meal is simple to make and takes no time at all to prepare. It is plenty to feed a family of six! With the spinach, I gave a nutritious twist as well. I hope you enjoy yourselves!
What exactly is gnocchi?
Many individuals mistakenly believe that gnocchi is pasta. It isn’t the case. Potatoes are used to make this gnocchi, as are the majority of gnocchi. Gnocchi is often confused with spaghetti since it may be served in the same way. Gnocchi cooks in a fraction of the time as pasta and has a denser consistency. It may be cooked in a variety of ways, including boiling and frying. It’s a wonderful way to spice up an old family favorite!
I’m not sure how I’m going to make this vegetarian.
If you want, you may simply convert this dish to a vegetarian version. Simply leave the apple chicken sausage off the menu. For protein, you may use Morning Stars Chicken Strips or any tofu. Because the sausage provides a lot of the flavor, I suggest using a tasty alternative or a spoonful of Italian spice.
The following are the ingredients for our Italian Chicken Gnocchi recipe:
- Gnocchi made with potatoes
- Parmigiano-Reggiano
- Garlic
- Spinach
- Chicken Sausage with Apples
- heaviness of cream
- Flour
To prepare our Italian Chicken Gnocchi Recipe, follow these steps:
To begin, prepare the gnocchi according to the package instructions. Drain and put aside after done. Place the empty pot back on the burner. The chicken sausage should then be sliced into bite-sized pieces. Place the chicken sausage on the stovetop over medium heat. If you’re not using a non-stick pan, coat it with approximately 1 tablespoon of olive oil beforehand to prevent the sausage from sticking. Cook for 6-7 minutes, or until the exterior of the beef begins to brown. Set aside once cooked. Add the minced garlic and butter while the pan is still on medium heat. Once the butter has melted, mix in the flour until well incorporated.
Then, while whisking continuously, gently add the cream into the flour mixture. Turn the heat to medium low while whisking until all of the cream has been added to the saucepan. Add the parmesan cheese and fresh spinach in a slow, steady stream. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the spinach has wilted somewhat.
Then add the chicken sausage and gnocchi back in. Slowly combine all of the ingredients and thoroughly integrate them.
Remove from fire after all ingredients are thoroughly cooked and serve!
I’m a big fan of dishes that check off a lot of boxes: Easy? Tasty? Filling? Budget-friendly? Is it simple to clean up? This one, without a doubt, ticks all of the criteria. The fact that it reheats well and takes little time to prepare is an added benefit. Give it a go and let me know how you like it!
