How to Make Homemade Cauliflower Rice (It’s Easy + You’ll Save Money!)

Cauliflower rice—aka cauli rice—is a delicious and simple alternative to traditional white rice. It’s a carb-free, low-calorie, nutritionally complete grain that can be used in all your favorite rice dishes. So, why not give it a try? You will save money, eat better, and enjoy an addictively delicious alternative to traditional white rice.

If you’ve ever tried to make your own riced cauliflower, you know how difficult it can be. Unlike rice, which is made with the grainy outer layer of the cauliflower, riced cauliflower comes out a silky smooth texture, and one that is better for making a variety of dishes like curries, soups and stir-fries. This is because riced cauliflower has a much finer texture that is similar to rice.

With cauliflower rice for a base, you can easily create lots of tasty, healthy dishes for a fraction of the cost of store-bought alternatives. Whether you’re making a simple side dish or a satisfying main dish loaded with vegetables, cauliflower rice can be used in many ways. And one of the simplest ways to add it to your meals is to make it a part of the rice pilaf recipe.. Read more about how to make cauliflower rice without food processor and let us know what you think.

Do you like cauliflower rice and eat it on a regular basis? Learning to prepare cauliflower rice from home is essential, whether as a topping for one-pot meals or as a keto side dish on its own.

I created a ketone-friendly cauliflower rice dish that has completely transformed my life.

Let’s have a look at the price difference between store-bought and homemade cauliflower rice:

I love how quick and easy it is to put a frozen bag of cauliflower rice into the microwave and have a meal ready in minutes. But first, let’s perform some math:

Also, this produces 3 1/2 cup servings, or only 1 1/2 cup, resulting in a $1.65 per cup cost.

However, using our method, one cup of cauliflower yields 6 cups of rice, implying that at $2.77 for a fresh cup of cauliflower (my pricing), the cost per cup is just 46 cents, or 70% cheaper!

And, if you consume 3 cups of homemade cauliflower rice each week (equal to 2 frozen packs), the annual cost of cauliflower rice is just $72.02, or $185.90 less than purchasing ready-made rice!

Here are some pointers for making homemade cauliflower rice:

  • Lina tested it with the Vitamix, and you can even use a Vitamix blender to achieve the same consistency. I used a food processor to chop the cauliflower into balls, but you can obtain the same consistency with a Vitamix blender.
  • To better manage the consistency, I suggest working with tiny quantities (Lina recommends the same thing if you use a Vitamix or blender)!
  • Before putting the bag of rice in the freezer, make sure it is completely flat. It takes up less room and is simpler to reheat when ready to serve.

Cauliflower rice preparation

..: SERIES 6

TIME TO PREPARE: 10 MINUTES

TIME TOTAL: 10 MINUTES

To save on both freshness and expense, make excellent cauliflower rice from home.

1

Remove the cauliflower’s core and green leaves. Make medium-sized chunks out of the florets. Cauliflower florets should be washed and dried.

2

Add a handful of florets to a food processor or Vitamix blender and pulse 5-7 times until you get a grainy rice consistency. It’s possible that some big parts are still available. If this is the case, remove them and finely chop them in the next serving.

3

In a large mixing dish, place the cauliflower rice. You may bag and store the cauliflower rice after you’ve processed all of the florets.

4

In a Ziploc bag, place a piece of kitchen roll (this will help absorb the liquid inside). 2-4 cups cauliflower rice should be added, pressed down firmly, and sealed. Keep them frozen until you’re ready to utilize them.

5

To prepare frozen cauliflower rice, follow these steps:

Put the Ziploc bag in the microwave after making three tiny holes in it. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Preparation takes less than 2 minutes.

Stove: To pan fried the rice, cook it in an oiled or nonstick skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring it periodically. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Have a blast!

Delicious, simple, and cost-effective!

Cauliflower rice is easy to make at home, as you can see. I love that all you need for this keto-friendly cauliflower rice is a head of cauliflower, a food processor, and a freezer to keep the cauliflower rice fresh. Even better, you’ll save a lot of money!

I made tiny tacos out of them by stuffing them with leftover minced meat and cheese. It was a fast, simple, and cheap dinner. You can make last night’s supper in no time if you have cauliflower rice on hand.

I can’t wait to hear how you utilize your cauliflower rice that you prepared yourself!

You can use the cauliflower rice in our keto burrito bowl once it has been cooked.

For the past few years, I have been making my own homemade rice. I have always been a rice connoisseur. I like white and brown rice, but I also like the less traditional textures of rice noodles and cauliflower rice. I have always loved cauliflower rice because it is so versatile, and you can flavor it to your liking. You can substitute it for rice in any dish, or you can put it on a salad with other vegetables..
