If you’re looking for an easy, refreshing and delicious summer cocktail then you can’t go wrong with a homemade Elderberry Margarita. This is a great cocktail to make when you need something easy, refreshing and delicious.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a margarita girl. I enjoy the sweet-tart mixture of tequila, lime, and sweet-tart elderberries. But just because I enjoy a margarita doesn’t mean my body is ready to drink one, let alone drink it every single day.
Every year, thousands of people descend on the Texas Hill Country’s Hill Country Music Festival in Fredericksburg, TX. Whether you come to enjoy some live music or stay for the food and other festivities, we all know there’s nothing like a treat on the way home. It’s been a tradition for years in the Hill Country and we must admit, we’re a little envious. This year, we decided to bring the spirit of the festival home with us.

One of the talents I’ve acquired in 2020 is the ability to work as a bartender!
I’ve discovered that excellent drinks are simple to prepare and that I can customize the flavor to my preferences.
Tequila Blanco, Elderberry Syrup (Elderberry Tea + Sugar), Lime Juice, and Sparkling Water are all required.
I used a silver or blanco tequila, but the identical recipe may be made with vodka or whiskey. So go ahead and experiment with various spirits.
Elderberry Syrup: I prepared a simple syrup at home by steeping bags of elderberry tea in sugar. This recipe yields 1 cup of elderberry syrup, which may be kept for a few weeks in a glass jar.
You may also take elderberry syrup if you’re feeling under the weather.
Mocktails with elderberry syrup are also delicious!
Lime Juice: To balance out the richness of the elderberry syrup, fresh lime juice is required.
Sparkling Water: To conclude, I added a dash of sparkling water to the drink. Flavored soda water is also an option.
Salt and Sugar Rim- Combining sugar and salt produces a sweet and salty balance that complements this margarita well.
Garnish with fresh rosemary or mint sprigs to make this margarita even more festive.
If you want to create a batch cocktail, double the recipe by the number of serves. Then, with the exception of the ice and sparkling water, combine everything.
