Chimichurri Steak Recipe Phase 2

On my recent wedding vacation to Costa Rica, I had the opportunity to sample some of the country’s incredible tastes and cuisine, including this Chimichurri Steak dish Phase 2. Chimichurri herbs and tastes originated in Argentina and are now popular across Central and South America. You’re in for a treat if you’ve never eaten Chimichurri steak before. A very memorable and delicious Phase 2 dinner is created by combining garlic, lemon, and crisp, fresh parsley. Phase 2 of my Chimichurri steak dish is so easy to prepare and tasty that you’ll forget you’re on the HCG Diet!

 

Suggestions for serving:

Fresh Chimichurri sauce may be mixed with my Cabbage Rice dish from The HCG Diet Gourmet Cookbook Vol. 1 or used to season other HCG Phase 2 proteins like chicken breast, broiled fish, or shrimp. Phase 2 of the Chimichurri Steak Recipe

Ingredients

100 g lean steak (london broil or equivalent lean steak, fat eliminated)

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Phase 2 of the Chimichurri Sauce Recipe

IngredientsChimichurri Steak Recipe Phase 2 Ingredients parsley, lemon, red onions, peppercorns

3 tablespoons minced parsley leaves

1 tablespoon minced red onion

1 garlic clove, smashed and minced

a quarter-cup of lemon juice

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar

1 tsp. red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon oregano, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano)

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Directions

Prepare the parsley and other ingredients by trimming the stems and mincing the leaves. Combine the parsley, onions, garlic, and spices in a finely minced mixture. Toss herbs with lemon juice and vinegar and serve chunky or mix till smooth in a bullet blender or food processor. Cook steak to desired doneness in a skillet over medium-high heat (with or without a little water) or on the grill. I like my steak medium rare to medium, but you may cook it to your own degree of doneness. Allow steak to rest for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving with Chimichurri sauce.
