- 12 Cupcakes with Frosting
- 200g Sugar | 1 cup
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 12 CUP GLUCOSE SYRUP OR LIGHT CORN SYRUP
- 1 tbsp cornstarch or cornflour
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 to 4 teaspoons red food coloring
- 14-1/2 teaspoon food coloring (blue)
- When the cupcakes are cold, frost them. Placed on the side.
- Measure the sugar in a pot and add the water. Preheat the pot to medium-high.
- Stir the water and sugar together until it boils.
- Boil for 3-5 minutes, or until the sugar becomes a darker color or reaches a temperature of 300F | 160C.
- On a baking sheet, pour the melted sugar. Allow it cool for 10 minutes before transferring to the refrigerator to solidify for a few hours.
- Combine the syrup and cornstarch in a mixing basin. Toss everything together until it’s well mixed.
- Slowly pour in the water, stirring constantly, until a thick syrup forms.
- Add the food coloring a little at a time until the color is a rich dark red.
- Adjust the fake blood’s consistency with water until it’s the consistency of real blood.
- Remove the sugar from the fridge after it has set and break it with a knife. Cut into tiny chunks.
- Spoon over the fake blood and a few shards of sugar glass from the sugar glass.
