Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter attempts to recreate the atmosphere of New Orleans. This Disney resort is a Disney Springs property in Walt Disney World, along with its sister resort, Port Orleans Riverside. Disney Springs is 1.7 miles from both of these Disney properties.
The excitement of Mardi Gras is combined with the beauty of New Orleans’ French Quarter at Port Orleans’ French Quarter. The man-made Sassagoula River runs through this Disney.
Sassagoula Floatworks is a float shop in Sassagoula, Mississippi.
Sassagoula Floatworks is the name of the food court within Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. This Mardi Gras-themed dining hall is a great spot for a fast bite to eat.
Beignets
A Bakery kiosk may be found within the Sassagoula Floatworks. Disney’s rendition of Mardi Gras King cakes, cupcakes, and even Mickey-shaped Pralines may be found there!
The Mickey-shaped Beignets, however, are the real star of the Bakery area! Mickey-shaped dough is cooked and dusted with powdered sugar.
You’re in for a treat if you’ve never gone to New Orleans for their Beignets! The Beignets at Walt Disney World are the most authentically New Orleans-style!

If you’re looking for New Orleans cuisine in Florida, you’ve come to the right place. Then try Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter’s Beignets. With these beignets, you can celebrate Mardi Gras every day!
Ingredients
- 1 pound of dried yeast
- 1 pound of sugar
- 2 eggs
- flour (seven cups)
- 1 1/2 c. hot water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup evaporated milk, undiluted
- 1/4 cup frying oil (soft shortening)
- Confectioner’s sugar is a kind of sugar used in the confectionery industry.
Instructions
- Sprinkle yeast over water in a large mixing basin and whisk to dissolve.
- Combine the sugar, salt, eggs, and milk in a mixing bowl.
- Using a rotary beater, blend the ingredients together.
- Add 4 cups of flour to the mix.
- Cover and chill for at least one night.
- Roll out to a thickness of 1/8″ on a floured board.
- Cut the squares into 2 1/2″ squares.
- Deep fried for 2-3 minutes at 360°F or until both sides are lightly browned.
- Using paper towels, absorb any excess liquid.
- Confectioner’s sugar, generously sprinkled
Notes
The dough can keep for many days in the refrigerator. Wrap the bowl with plastic wrap and punch it down every now and again.
