These cookies are a classic, and they’re so easy to make. They have been made for centuries in many different variations. The cookie dough is mixed with butter, vanilla extract, and sugar before being rolled into balls and placed on parchment paper-lined baking sheets.
Under the Sea Cookies is a company that makes under the sea cookie cutters. They have been selling their products since 2006, and they are no longer in business.

Ocean animals have always piqued my children’s interest. We watch Shark Week on the Discovery Channel on a regular basis and have always been fascinated by the water. We created these adorable “Under the Sea” Cookies, which were as much fun to make as they were to eat. Seriously. You get to eat Chocolate is fantastic., after all! My children were overjoyed. Rocks! They may resemble the genuine thing, but they’re made of chocolate!
*Here are our two favorite Sugar Cookie recipes: Copycat Swig Sugar Cookies and Super Soft Sugar Cookies. I made Butter Sugar Cookies from a Krusteaz mix since I adore how they taste and how easy they are to prepare! There’s no need to roll and cut them; simply use a tiny cookie scoop to scoop them out and back them.
Cookies from the Deep Blue Sea
- Baked and cooled sugar cookies
- frosting made with vanilla buttercream and blue food coloring
- Chocolate is fantastic.
- Gummy Swedish fish/blue shark candies
- I found our Dory fish candy at Michael’s craft shop.
- 1 graham cracker, crumbled
- 12 cup butter, whisked with an electric mixer for 1 minute Vanilla Buttercream Frosting 1 cup at a time, add 3 cups powdered sugar. 1 tsp vanilla extract and 2 TBSP milk Blend until completely smooth. I included 20 drops of blue food coloring in the mix.
- Frost the cookies once they have cooled. Place a few chocolate pebbles towards the bottom of the container. Crush a graham cracker and sprinkle it over and around the rocks, making sure it sticks to the bottom of the biscuit. 1 shark gummy and/or Swedish fish, as well as a Dory fish candy and a few other little fishy sweets, should be placed on each biscuit.

Let’s talk about marine life! This amusing picture was taken at a local aquarium that invites children to touch and explore the marine life on display. We go there a couple times a year since it’s a fun location. This is my middle kid greeting a friendly sting ray. I’m not familiar with sting rays, but the variety on display here is hilarious! They emerge several inches from the water (hoping to be given something delicious, I’m sure!) and appear unconcerned by the children.
