I have never been a pasta lover. I love pasta at least once a week, but even I admit that it is not my favorite. I love lasagna. In fact, I LOVE lasagna. I had a really hard time finding a recipe that was easy to make, and didn’t require a ton of ingredients. I came across this recipe, and it was amazing. It is incredibly easy to make, and doesn’t require a lot of ingredients. You only need 5 ingredients, plus salt and pepper. It is also super delicious.
The most time-consuming part of my week is spending time in the kitchen. It’s where I spend most of my free time and love doing so! In fact, I pretty much spend all my free time in the kitchen. The average American spends on average 2 hours a day cooking. It’s not that cooking is that much time consuming, but even if it was, it wouldn’t be that bad since I get so much enjoyment out of it.
In this recipe, after spending all morning making a perfect tomato sauce, you’re ready to put it together. What’s the first thing you think to do? Grab a box of your favorite pasta, right? But given all the different kinds of noodles and shapes, which one should you use? And when choosing your sauce, should you go with one that’s packed with calories, but low in fat? Or should you choose one that’s packed with vegetables, but lower in fiber?
This is sure to be the simplest lasagna you’ve ever cooked! Our 5-Ingredient Lasagna is very easy to prepare and tasty! We add some variety to the dish by adding cheddar cheese and keeping the sauce mild! The end product is fantastic, and if my family wants lasagna, I’m more than happy to provide!
The first word that sprang to me whenever I heard the term ‘lasagna’ was always ‘exhausting!’ The recipes I found across usually appeared to be intense, with a lengthy list of components. I wanted something simple yet consistent in concept and flavor. Here’s where you put quarantine…. The noodle department at the grocery shops where I live was very limited. These were the only ones available (seen below), so I decided to take a risk!
These ones worked well, and I only needed a quarter of the box for the whole recipe!! So I can make three more lasagnas from the same box! That made it easier for me to accept the greater price I had to pay for them.
How long does lasagna take to prepare?
To be honest, it varies entirely on the recipe you use. The recipe we’re using gets its timing from the no-boil noodles we selected. The time suggested for Delverde’s particular product is written on the back of the packaging. Because the meat is already cooked, the cook time is used to get the noodles to the proper consistency, melt the cheese, and bring all of the tastes together.
Is it necessary to cover my lasagna while baking it?
Yes, we’d agree! When baking the lasagna dish, we strongly advise you to cover it with foil. It prevents the noodles from drying out by capturing all of the liquid that would otherwise escape. To get the cheese nice and toasted, remove the foil for the final 10 minutes of cooking.
Lasagna made using just 5 ingredients
To create our 5-ingredient Lasagna, follow these steps:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Brown your ground beef next. Ground turkey, chicken, or sausage may all be used in place of ground beef. You have complete freedom to choose anything you and your family want. Drain the oil after it has been browned.
After that, arrange all of the ingredients so you can start layering the lasagna. To begin, spread approximately 14 cup of spaghetti sauce over the baking dish’s base.
Next, evenly distribute 1/3 of your beef mixture on top of the sauce.
Place 1/4 of the cheddar cheese on top of the meat after it has been placed.
Then, on top of it, lay the noodle sheets. If required, trim the edges or split a few in half to make it suit your specific meal.
Last but not least, dollop some butter on top of the noodles. Repeat the layering process two more times.
After you’ve finished stacking, top the noodles with another 1/4 cup of sauce and a sprinkle of cheese.
Preheat oven to 400°F and bake for 40 minutes. Enjoy!
It’s freeing to me to be able to make a delicious meal like lasagna with just 5 ingredients AND it’s so easy! You’ve probably noticed the lack of ricotta/cottage cheese. This was done on purpose. My family enjoys the traditional dish, but at the end of the dinner, I usually see so much white cheese pushed to the ‘no thank you’ side of their plate. This is a fantastic method to keep that delicious meal just the way we want it!
