- 1 pound of ground chicken
- 1 medium diced onion
- 8 oz. chopped water chestnuts from a can
- 2 garlic cloves
- fresh ginger, 1 inch nob, minced
- Butter Bib lettuce, 10-12 leaves
To make the sauce, combine the following ingredients.
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- 2 tsp garlic-chili sauce
How to create our Chicken Lettuce Wraps with a Twist
Cook the chicken and onions in a big pan or wok over high heat.
Garlic and ginger should be added before the chicken is completely cooked. Cook the chicken until it is no longer pink.
Combine sesame oil soy sauce, water, peanut butter, honey, rice vinegar, and chili garlic sauce in a separate small bowl.
Microwave the bowl for 30 seconds to melt the peanut butter. To mix the components, stir them together.
Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and add the water chestnuts. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and wrap a big scoop of the mixture in your favorite lettuce. As a salad, it may also be served over a bed of lettuce. Refrigerate any leftover chicken in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
