We’re coming closer to the NFL season, but we still don’t know if Aaron Rodgers will play for the Green Bay Packers in 2021. Rodgers has been the subject of rumors all summer, but he hasn’t properly addressed the issue, so we’re all left guessing.

However, after spending considerable time with Rodgers, a friend and former Packers teammate recently revealed his views on the quarterback’s future. A.J. Hawk, a former NFL linebacker, is that buddy.

Aaron Rodgers said that he would make a decision on his Packers future shortly.

Since the Packers picked Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, fans and analysts have speculated if Rodgers would depart Green Bay at some point.

Since then, there have been rumors this offseason that Rodgers wants gone, with some claiming he is dissatisfied with the club. Despite the fact that he has skipped the whole offseason program, Green Bay does not seem to be interested in moving the 2020 NFL MVP.

Rodgers has been rather silent throughout the summer. Rodgers, though, claimed he will sort things out shortly while playing in the American Century Championship golf tournament.

According to NFL.com, Rodgers said, “I’m going to enjoy the heck out of this week.” “And then in a few weeks, I’m going to go back to working out and sort things out.”

A.J. Hawk weighed in on the quarterback’s future.

Hawk and Rodgers are good friends, and Hawk participated in the American Century Championship in 2021. While at the tournament, it seems that the two spent some time together. Following that, Pat McAfee, Hawk’s co-host on The Pat McAfee Show, clearly had some questions for the former Packers linebacker on their July 13 broadcast.

No, Hawk didn’t completely clear things up for NFL fans, but he did tell McAfee that he doesn’t anticipate Rodgers retiring anytime soon, as some have speculated in recent months.

“You watched The Match (against Tom Brady); clearly, he wanted to win; you can tell when someone wants to win,” Hawk remarked. “I believe he was ecstatic to have won. He enjoys competing. Does he seem to be the kind to sit back and retire to you?… Aaron looks fantastic, and he seems to be in excellent mental shape. He still has the ability to throw the ball. I saw him toss the ball into the ocean a little bit; we’re leaping from docks attempting to grab balls and other things. But, yes, I believe he is in a fantastic position right now.”

Hawk, on the other hand, isn’t sure where Rodgers stands with the Packers right now.

Hawk remarked, “I stayed there for a week and I still come away — I don’t know.” “I don’t know whether anybody has any answers, how either side feels, or if they’re making progress,” she says. However, they must make progress in one manner or another before or as camp begins.”

So, what are the chances that Rodgers will leave Green Bay? Hawk doesn’t believe it will happen.

“Remember what I said at the outset? Hawk said, “I don’t see him playing anyplace else.”

“I don’t see Green Bay moving him, I don’t see it happening,” he added. I’m not sure how it’ll work out, but I still believe he’ll be in Green Bay.”

No, we still don’t know what Rodgers’ plans are, but one of his close pals thinks he won’t retire and will remain in Green Bay. At the very least, this should provide some comfort to Packers supporters.

Aaron Rodgers must play for the Packers and the NFL.

Whatever happens this season, Rodgers must play in 2021 for the Packers and the NFL.

He is the current NFL MVP, having earned it for the third time in his career last season. He was also one of the most dominating players in the history of the sport. Rodgers threw for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns, and five interceptions in his career. Green Bay also advanced to the NFC Championship Game for the second season in a row thanks to the nine-time Pro Bowler.

Rodgers is obviously needed by the Packers to help them win games, but he is also needed to help them sell tickets. He’s one of the league’s most well-known figures, and his outstanding performance draws an increasing number of viewers to their television broadcasts.

Packers fans certainly want Rodgers to play in 2021 and so do football fans in general. But Green Bay and the NFL need him to, so, hopefully, his friend and former teammate is right. Hopefully, Rodgers runs it back with the Packers this upcoming season.

Pro Football Reference provided the statistics.
