Eggplant Moussaka is a high-in-fat Greek dish that is said to have been created by Turks who settled in Greece. One of the main ingredients used in the Greek version of this dish is eggplant, which is baked and sliced into large pieces which are then layered with a seasoned meat sauce and topped with cheese.

Eggplant Moussaka is a Greek dish in which the eggplant slices are layered with a rich tomato sauce, creamy cheese and egg. The dish has its roots in ancient Greece, where the eggplant was a staple vegetable, and is commonly found in modern Greece. The Greeks add their own preferred touch to the dish, using unusual cheeses like quark or kefalotyri, and often serving it with a meat and eggplant mix, called kokoretsi.
