Three years ago, I was attempting to come up with a boring night of eating for entertaining friends. I was also trying to cut calories, and I didn’t like most of what I was eating. So, I started experimenting. I went on a search for recipes on the internet, and I fell in love with crescent dough. I knew I wanted to make a taco pizza, but I wanted to make it different than the regular pizza that everyone makes. Breaking away from the standard pizza dough, I came up with this. I quickly began making it and making it, and I am sure I will make over a hundred of them by the end.

This is the most challenging pizza recipe I’ve ever tried. I’ve finally created a pizza that is so easy to make, you won’t have to use a pizza stone. The best part is, this is a doughless pizza recipe. It’s called Crescent Dough Taco Pizza, and it’s a flatbread dough of sorts that is used to make a pizza, but it’s not really a dough at all, it’s more of a doughless pizza crust.

This Taco Pizza, like my Cheesy Taco Pasta dish, has some Mexican tastes but is made with kid-friendly ingredients. My children adore pizza, as do the majority of children. I mean, I’m not sure I blame them… You can eat it with your hands since it’s doughy and cheesy. So, to mix things up for Taco Night, I decided to create a pizza using the same components I use in crispy tacos.
I’ve seen a few Taco Pizzas with cream cheese or sour cream bases, but I opted to use refried beans as the foundation and leave the cheese off of my piece so that I could enjoy it as well. I keep a tube of crescent dough in the fridge at all times. It’s great for quick snacks, breakfast, and simple dinners like this one! Once constructed, the Taco Pizza looks stunning and would be ideal for a party. On mine, I topped it with additional spicy sauce and pickled jalapenos.
This Taco Pizza was a hit with my son, who claimed it was better than the fast food Mexican pizza he usually has when we go on road trips. I’m not sure how flattering it is, but I’ll take it! It was also eaten by my fussy daughter, but without the lettuce and additional avocado. And my husband, well, he enjoyed it as well!
I know this isn’t the healthiest dish, so if you are looking for a more balanced meal, then I would suggest serving this pizza with a side of cumbers, or mixed greens dressed with some lemon juice, olive oil, salt & pepper (My go to salad dressing). You can also load up on the shredded lettuce, tomato, and avocado to make it more filling and nutritious. However you decide to serve this Taco pizza, I’m sure it’s going to be a family favorite!

I was just thinking about making this pizza as we usually make a few for our family. I then decided to make a few extra just to have on hand for when I needed them. Then I thought that I might just make a few extra pizzas for my family. Then I realize that I’ll be making a few extras for myself, for lunch the next day and for dinner the following day. So, I’ll be making a few extra and taking them with me. Then I thought that I might just take a few more just for myself. Then I’ll be making a few extra.
