Colaweizen (German Wheat Beer Mixed Drink) |, a recipe that’s collected from many sources. We like it because it’s easy to prepare, doesn’t use yeast, and has a high percentage of wheat. It’s a nice alternative to wheat beer in warm weather, and it goes well with spicy food.

I’ve never been a fan of mixed drinks, especially cocktails, but I had no choice in the matter. My friends and I were all sitting around the bar in a new German beer hall, sipping on our colaweizens. Now, I don’t know if you’ve ever had a colaweizen, but to put it simply, it’s a mixed wheat beer (usually Weizen or Kristal) with fresh lemon juice and sugar. The drink is typically served ice cold, but the night we were there I had to be careful with my glass.. Read more about hefeweizen beer and let us know what you think.

Have you ever tried a Colaweizen? Here’s How To Make This German Cocktail!

Let’s get straight to the point: if you’re here, you’re probably familiar with the drink known as Colaweizen.

This German mixed drink, made with half wheat beer and half Coca-Cola, is the ideal summertime sipper.

Colaweizen is a wheat beer substitute that is served in a wheat beer glass and is a pleasant, sweeter option for people who don’t like wheat beer.

Lisa is familiar with the idea of Colaweizen, having grown up in Bavaria. Eric, on the other hand, felt the combination of Coca-Cola and hazy wheat beer was odd.

You’ll be persuaded otherwise after the first taste!

As previously said, it’s a pleasant change of pace every now and then – particularly if you’re not a big lover of German wheat beers.

Authentic pretzels, Obatzda cheese, German meatballs, and a Radler beer will transport you to a German beer garden.

Colaweizen is a German beer that may be made in a variety of ways.

You’re in luck if you’re wondering how to create a Colaweizen; it’s a breeze. Fill your tall beer glass halfway with wheat beer and the remainder with Cola or Pepsi (like Erdinger, for example).

Remember to tilt the glass slightly as you pour the beer in to avoid creating too much froth. Place your glass upright towards the end of the pour to produce a little froth. You just need a little amount of foam – check the picture above for an example.

In terms of proportions, you typically combine it 50:50 — that is, half Cola and half Weizenbier. You can always make a stronger drink by mixing 2/3 wheat beer and 1/3 Coca-Cola.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Coca-Cola or Pepsi
  • 1 gallon wheat beer

Instructions

  1. In a large beer glass, pour the Cola/Pepsi.
  2. Pour the wheat beer into the glass while gently angling it to prevent too much foam from forming on top. To achieve a beautiful “foam crown” or “head,” tilt the glass upright towards the end of the pour.

Notes

  • Colaweizen is traditionally served in a traditional wheat beer glass, but you may use whatever beer glass you have on hand.
  • Of course, you may create a smaller cocktail if you want. For example, 1/2 cup of each liquid may be used.
  • If you want a stronger beer taste, adjust the ratio to 2/3 beer and 1/3 soda.
