Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in White Plains, New York, into a comfortable, well-educated family that valued intellectual achievement. He attended private school until ninth grade, then transferred to the exclusive Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. At Phillips Exeter, Zuckerberg excelled in classics. He took a graduate course in the subject, and today can read and write French, Hebrew, Latin, and ancient Greek.
After two years at Harvard University, where he studied computer science and psychology, Zuckerberg dropped out in 2004 to work full time on Facebook. The following year, he moved the company to Palo Alto, California.
