Coconut drops are a must-try for anybody who like coconut.

Jamaica drops are a classic Jamaican delicacy that is so simple to prepare that you’ll believe it.

Made with extremely basic components that you probably already have in your pantry.

With only brown sugar, vanilla essence, cinnamon, ginger, and a coconut, you can make Jamaican coconut drops in no time.

Peanut Drops, Plantain Chips, and Peanut Butter

When making drops, the sweet mixture is boiled down to form a syrup that hardens as it cools.

Cooked drops are traditionally scooped from the saucepan and “dropped” on a banana leaf to cool.

That’s probably where the name originates from. The majority of you reading this article don’t have access to a banana tree or any way to get a banana leaf.

However, don’t be discouraged; an extra sheet or cooking foil will suffice.

Although coconut drops are the most popular, there are other kinds of drops, such as peanut and Jamaican almond drops, which are also my favorites since I can’t eat enough coconut.

Peanut and Jamaican almond drops are usually more costly to purchase.

A variety of different Jamaican sweets include coconut. Coconut is used in toto, grater cake, and gizzada.

Try one of the recipes below to enjoy a Jamaican favorite.
