Sure, they taste great, but are beer cocktails actually worth drinking? The answer is probably yes, but there are some important things to keep in mind. First, beer cocktails are usually made with a beer that is not widely available. Second, these drinks are usually less expensive than beer on their own, so they may be appealing to people on a budget. Third, they are usually safer to drink than beer, since most contain little or no alcohol.
As the weather starts to get warmer and the nights lengthen, spring approaches. One of the great things about this time of year is that you can start tasting new beers on tap and find new beer cocktails that you won’t see in the shops during the cooler months. The following recipe is one of my favorites. It goes down easy and is surprisingly refreshing.
The summer is one of the most fun times to be outside, especially for those of us who live in sunny areas. But it can be hard to stay out of the kitchen, especially on the days when the weather doesn’t cooperate. I’m all for enjoying some al fresco drinks on these hot, summer days, but I think they deserve to be served in proper glasses. Anything served in the tumblers your mom gave you as a kid is not proper, casual summer style.
It may seem strange, but this drink is very refreshing and thirst-quenching!

Beer is one of my favorite beverages. I really believe that.
But there are moments when I simply want to be fancy.

This is the ideal cocktail for savoring a premium beer.
Begin with a little amount of rum, then add fresh citrus juices and simple syrup. Then finish it off with a cool lager.
Simply put a straw in it and you’re ready to go!
This drink has been tested using both lemon and lime juice.
Both are delicious; the lime is a little sweeter, but I wouldn’t turn down either!
Cocktail made with beer
For a delicious beer cocktail, combine rum, fresh citrus juices, and a little simple syrup, then top with your favorite beer.
Ingredients
- 1 oz of rum
- 1 lemon, freshly squeezed (lime is really delicious also)
- 1 orange, freshly squeezed
- 1 oz simple syrup (easy to make, just follow the instructions)
- 4 oz. of beer
- ice
Directions

| Add ice to a 16-ounce glass. Combine the rum, simple syrup*, lemon, and orange juices in a mixing bowl. Pour some beer on top.
In a saucepan over medium high heat, combine equal parts sugar and water to create simple syrup. Whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved. Continue to cook for a few minutes longer. Cool. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks in a covered jar. |

The most popular option is beer, which is perfect for these drinks. However, you can’t just use any beer, you need something special. The base of the drink needs to be very refreshing, so it needs to be cold. The best option is a lager beer, as it has the best foam and the best mouthfeel.
