Slow Roasted Pork Sliders –

While many people enjoy the spring and summer months, this time of year is often considered to be one of the worst. Temperatures are warming up, the leaves are changing, and the smell of barbecue fills the air. The stress of the upcoming holiday season, coupled with school schedules, social events, and the search for a job, can leave many feeling overwhelmed. Of course, there are ways to overcome this, but it can take time to find the right diet and exercise routines. This week, we are eating out for lunch at tintorera, where the food is slow-roasted to perfection and made to order.

Slow roasted pork sliders are probably one of the best-known food items to ever be invented, and for good reason. They are delicious, healthy, and easy to make, and since they are made out of relatively inexpensive pork, they are also budget-friendly. The key to making slow roasted pork sliders is to use the slow cooker. The oven tends to dry out the meat, making it harder for it to become succulent, and the high heat of the stovetop tends to brown the meat instead of the slow cooker’s low heat drying out the meat. This preserves more moisture in the meat, making it more tender.

You can’t really go wrong with a slow-roasted pork shoulder, but if you want to take your pork to the next level, think about adding a few ingredients and flavors that will elevate it and make it amazing. If you’re looking for a pork recipe that has a few more ingredients, but still relies on the simplicity of slow-roasting, then this recipe is for you.

Pulled pork sliders on Hawaiian Sweet Rolls |

There is very little preparation needed.

Place the roast in the oven and relax for a few hours while the fragrance fills the house!

Allow the roast to rest until it is cold enough to handle after it has been cooked tender. Break into bite-sized pieces after that.

My favorite way to serve this slow-roasted pork is on King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls with coleslaw and a sprinkle of BBQ sauce.

Roasted Pork Shoulder

I suggest coleslaw with a spicy oil and vinegar dressing for this kind of sandwich.

This is the RECIPE for the dressing I use.

EVERYTHING POTATO SALAD is a great side dish for this sandwich.

To reduce kitchen effort even more while your guests are present, the pork may be fully prepared ahead of time and kept warm in a crock pot until ready to serve. It’s simple to have fun!

Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder

This slow-roasted pork shoulder’s “bark” is delicious! The wait was well worth it!

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. boneless pork shoulder (I use two pork shoulders, each weighing about 2 lbs. This reduces the amount of time spent cooking.)
  • 2 tsp. maple syrup
  • a quarter cup of light brown sugar
  • 1 tea spoon Mustard dijon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons thyme, dry
  • 4-5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chile powder, ground
  • a pinch of salt and pepper

Note

Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder is a great dish to serve at parties. While the roast is cooking, you may engage your guests. Once the roast is removed from the oven, there is very little labor to be done. Your visitors will be eager to dig in after being enticed by the scent of roasting pork.

You may use whatever buns you choose, but Kings Hawaiian Sweet Rolls are fantastic! The pork is enhanced by serving it with coleslaw prepared with an olive oil vinaigrette. This salad dressing recipe is fantastic!

Directions

Step 1
Remove the roasts from the fridge, season well with salt and pepper, and let aside to come to room temperature for approximately an hour. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit. To make cleaning simpler, line a roasting pan (just big enough to accommodate the roasts) with foil.
Step 2
Combine maple syrup, brown sugar, Dijon, thyme, garlic, and chipotle in a large mixing basin.
Step 3
Place the roasts in the bowl and flip them over to cover both sides with the mixture.
Step 4
Place the roasts in a foil-lined roasting pan and bake for 15 minutes.

Reduce the heat to 200°F and continue to cook until the internal temperature reaches 195-200°F.

If you’re using two 2-pound roasts, it’ll take around 4 hours, and if you’re using one, bigger 4 pound roast, it’ll take about 6 hours, but start monitoring temperatures around the 2 hour mark.

Remove from the oven and set aside to cool completely before shredding or breaking into pieces for sandwiches.
