What is a stuffed steak roll? Well, I suppose it’s not exactly a “roll”, but more like a flatbread pizza, a pizza pocket, or a pocket pizza. An appetizer or a snack, it’s a simple idea that turned into a full-fledged meal. I was sitting at my computer and thinking about how to fix a steak when I remembered my mom’s stuffed steak roll recipe.

Stuffed Steak Rolls are a delicious and easy to make dish that everyone can enjoy. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how you can make your own stuffed steak rolls at home.

What is the best way to make stuffed steak rolls?

 

Steak Rolls with Stuffing

Here’s what you’ll require:

2 tablespoons canola oil, split 3 tablespoons garlic, diced 2 cups thinly sliced mushrooms 2 sweet onions, such as Vidalia 12 tbsp. salt (kosher) 12 tsp. black pepper, freshly ground flank steak, 2 pound salt kosher black pepper, freshly ground 1 package (4 oz.) baby spinach Provolone cheese, 9 slices

Preparation Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium-high-heat pan, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil. In a large skillet, combine the garlic, onions, mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until nearly all of the liquid has gone and the onions are caramelizing. Remove the pan from the heat and put it aside. On a chopping board, place the flank steak. Place the mushroom and onion mixture on top of the steak, distributing it evenly. The spinach should be sprinkled on top, followed by the Provolone slices. To compress the spinach, gently push down. Begin rolling the flank steak firmly from the bottom, ensuring sure the grain of the flesh runs horizontally. To keep the steak roll together, use 6 toothpicks. Make 6 equal steak rolls by slicing the steak roll in half. In a pan over high heat, heat the remaining oil. Sear the steak rolls for 1-2 minutes on one side, then flip. Sear the second side for about 1 minute, then bake until medium-rare, approximately 10-15 minutes. After that, take out the toothpicks and serve!
