Every time I see an article or TV segment on television that takes a look at how the brain affects our daily lives, I see it as a great opportunity to talk to people about how the brain works and the effect it has on our lives. I feel we are often in a rush through our day, and forget to take time to stop and reflect on what we are doing. It is easy to see that our brains are not on the same page as the rest of our body, and if you are not careful, it can lead to a lot of problems. However, I think there are some very interesting stories to tell about the brain, the body, and how everyday people can apply the brain’s powers for their benefit.

Many are looking to find a way to help with weight loss. In the last few years, there have been many diets and exercises that have “buzzed” around the internet. It seems that there is always a “new diet” or “new diet” that is all the rage and every one wants to try it. With the constant dieting, it can really make you sick and it’s no wonder why. If you’re looking for a way to lose weight, you’ve got to go for the best. The results of any diet program are only temporary. If results are not achieved, it can usually lead to a negative outlook.

HEAD STRONG is a book about having strength in life and in your head. It’s about having confidence in your choices, having the courage to move on from past mistakes, and to make the most of what you’ve got. The book is written by an author who has been struggling with anxiety and depression for the past 2 years, and this is her story and her way of sharing.

You’re happy because you have more energy and a sharper mind.

The book that brightens my life is my favorite. Thankfully, Head Strong does this in the first four chapters! If you appreciate novels where the truth isn’t glossed over (hint: you won’t eat anything in Head Strong that isn’t glossed over), you’ll like this one.

I was excited to learn that Dave Asprey’s Strong Head would be the book for our May book club meeting. I’ve listened to Dave on a number of podcasts and learned a lot about the human brain and body, as well as how they are influenced by virtually everything in our environment.

However, it is not as exciting as a thriller or a crime fiction. Wow, I had no clue! It’s as juicy as you claim. And, dang, that’s why I’m feeling this way!

Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Part 1: It’s all in your brain

We learn about kryptonite for the brain in the first section of Head Strong, which includes anything that steals the energy our brains need and transfers it to another area of the body. The consequence is aggravating, manifesting itself in a variety of ways that Dave Asprey refers to as the brain’s five vulnerabilities.

You have at least one of these impairments if you identify yourself in any of the following situations…..

  • You often lose track of your thoughts.
  • After meals, there is a strong craving for sweets.
  • Fatigue in a distracting and loud setting
  • Sleep is of poor quality.
  • Swings in mood
  • Depression

It may seem like you’re back in biology class for a few pages, but keep reading because it gets better and better!

Here’s what we should remember from the first section of Head Strong:

Certain meals, environmental chemicals, light kinds, and even forms of exercise may all damage your brain. This brain kryptonite won’t kill you right away – at least not immediately – but it will steadily and invisibly drain your battery power.

Fatigue is the first sign of mitochondrial excess. Cravings, poor moods, mental fog, forgetfulness, and loss of focus are all symptoms.

Our daily loss of power is a typical example of death by a thousand cuts. We live in a world that is becoming more toxic, and the majority of us consume poisonous food.

There is a method to increase the quantity of energy supplied to the brain beyond what is required. Your brain will be able to operate like a new phone right out of the box after you understand how to do this. It will be quick, responsive, and fully charged.

Low brain power manifests itself in a variety of ways, including forgetfulness, cravings, a lack of energy, bad moods, and trouble focusing.

When you consume too much sugar, your mitochondria are unable to generate energy from fat and must rely only on glucose to function. This implies that instead of being used as fuel by your brain, fat is stored in fat cells, causing you to gain weight.

Your food is probably the most significant element in influencing the pace of neurogenesis. While certain foods inhibit neurogenesis, others promote it.

Their neurons need a lot of energy to operate, and if they don’t receive it, they die.

Consume more healthful saturated fats, such as those found in butter and grass-fed meats.

The first area of your body to be affected by chronic inflammation is your brain.

The fog vanishes when the swelling in the body or brain is reduced. You are able to think more clearly, focus when necessary, and recall events more readily.

The same things that induce bodily inflammation also cause your brain to become cloudy and irritated.

The Head Strong program will help you decrease inflammation in your body, particularly in your brain, by giving you with the proper type of light, feeding the correct bacteria in your gut, regulating your hormones, and, of course, increasing the function and efficiency of your mitochondria.

I read this book because I have tiredness, poor sleep quality, and am exposed to pollutants in the environment. If you’re concerned about any of the frequent issues mentioned in these chapters, remember that they’re not normal, and you don’t have to live with them indefinitely! With Head Strong, you’ll sharpen your mind and live a happier, healthier life.

In January of 2015, Kenneth Brody became the first person to reach the North Pole on a unicycle. It was a fitting end to a career of such daring. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Brody, then a dentist, trained for a polar unicycle expedition that would take him from Siberia to the North Pole, a distance of 8,000 miles, with no support from sled dogs or motorized transport. In one of the more surreal, impossible feats of the polar record, he actually made the trip to the Pole, albeit with a broken unicycle that could no longer support his weight..
